June 29, 2021

As we approach July 4th, we wish everyone a safe and festive long upcoming weekend celebrating the birth of America!

WE is growing!  As a 5013c organization, Women in Electronics relies heavily on the volunteer efforts of its members – on the women and men sharing their creativity, talents, and enthusiasm to support the WE community. WE would like to thank these individuals who have supported our efforts since our inception and take this opportunity to recognize the contributions of the four members recently appointed to the Women in Electronics Advisory Board:

Susan Leager, Director of Distribution at Control Sales

Susan was one of the initial founding WE members and has taken an active leadership role in the US Chapter Council, working closely with the WE Executive leadership and the Advisory Board to bring uniformity and structure to the community’s quarterly meetings.

Debbie Martin, Marketing Communications Manager at TDK Electronics

Debbie initially volunteered as a Chapter Lead in the Southwest. Today she serves as the Membership Chair and offers support on the Marketing and Communications sub-committee, in collaboration with the Chapter Council, to advance the WE membership efforts.

Sue Breault, Partner and Sales Engineer, at Crowley Associates

After attending her first WE leadership conference, Sue recognized the community provided her with an opportunity to combine her passion for mentorship with a desire to give back. Sue’s been instrumental in helping Monica Highfill manage and grow the WE Mentorship Program.

Eva Jelezova, Global Director of Product Management & Marcom, CVP at Littelfuse.

Eva joins us as one of the original supporters of WE.  Eva will help with our global expansion efforts and brings a wealth of industry experience and knowledge to the Advisory Board.

Through their various efforts, Susan L., Debbie, Susan B. and Eva have made a lasting impact on Women in Electronics. Please join us in welcoming them to the Advisory Board!

WALK FOR A CAUSE!

Join us for our 2nd Annual Virtual Walk to support women's health through the month of July! Come one, come all! Grab your friends and family – WE members and non-members are encouraged to partcipate. All proceeds will be donated to the Ludeman Family Center for Women’s Health Research.

"I know of no other industry that has this type of organization and resource for women’s career development. Having access to a local, national and now global network of industry professionals as well as ongoing leadership and life balance instruction and guidance is extremely valuable." - Sue Breault, Crowley Associates

“I noticed a WE post on LinkedIn from one of my industry connections and began to follow WE on LinkedIn. I was impressed with the relevant topics that were being discussed and could envision how I would benefit greatly by getting involved. I attended the Leadership Summit in March and was hooked!

Chugging along? The June preliminary Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) showed private sector output expanded at a historically elevated rate, even as the rate of expansion slowed slightly from the May record level. While raw material and labor shortages continue to impact demand, these pressures are expected to ease in the second half of the year.

The ABC’s of DEI:

A= Awareness – personal responsibility from not only the leaders, but the talent as well, allows for collective understanding and progress.

B= Belonging – forming connections based on mutual understanding helps to build strong relationships and sets the foundation for individuals to feel safe and welcome.

C= Commitment – DEI is a mindset and a collective growth mentality; it’s not a one and done!

“Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being.
With freedom comes responsibility.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt
