Global Impact

Facial Recognition in Vehicles

Earlier this year, Continental AG, a German multinational automotive parts manufacturing company, announced their Face Authentication Display for vehicles, a two-system access control system based on biometric user recognition. Using the special biometric user recognition and camera systems, a vehicle will open and start up as soon as it detects a registered user. Potential impacts are vast including enhanced security, improved convenience, and a more personalized vehicle experience.
