Solange Knowles is an African American singer, songwriter, and actress who has recently explored ballet composing. She is known for her continued support in aiding underserved and marginalized communities. In 2020, she received the inaugural Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact. She donated the $100,000 prize money to Project Row Houses, a nonprofit dedicated to helping marginalized communities through art.
